Step 1- Line a baking tray with butter paper and set it aside.
Step 2-Heat the oil in a large saucepan on medium-high heat. Put 3 popcorn kernels into the oil and cover the pan. When the kernels pop, add the rest of the ⅓ cup of popcorn kernels in an even layer and cover with the lid.
Step 3-Gently shake the pot over the heat to prevent the kernels from burning. Shake the pot occasionally until most kernels have popped and popping has slowed down between pops.
Step 4- Remove the lid and carefully pour the popcorn onto the prepared baking tray. Be sure that no unpopped kernels are added to the baking tray.
Step 5- For the dark chocolate, use a double boiler or microwave to melt it.
Step 6- Drizzle the popcorn with melted chocolate and lightly sprinkle it with salt.
Step 7- Toss the popcorn to evenly distribute the chocolate. Taste it and add additional salt, if desired. Allow it to rest in the fridge for a few minutes till the chocolate set.
Step 8- Enjoy your yummy chocolatey popcorn.
